Carpenter's Hands Ministry is made up of Christians from different churches and denominations who have bonded together to live out our faith in God. We emphasize family participation in missions.
What We Do
We Serve others by responding to disasters, being involved in partnership missions, and completing local projects.
Why We Do What We Do
1. We want to love and bring glory to our Father in Heaven, The Lord Jesus our Savior, and the Holy Spirit who indwells and empowers us. (Matthew 5:16)
2. We want to love our neighbor as Jesus taught us to. (Luke 10:25-37)
3. We believe if you are going to talk the talk, you need to walk the walk. (James 2:14-20)
Our Story
On December 26th, 1999, a group of 12 people left Mud Creek Baptist Church heading for Burgaw, NC in response to NC Baptist Men’s call for help in ministering to the victims of Hurricane Floyd. During the week God gave us the vision for the Carpenter’s Hands Ministry. Over the next year many lives were touched as we rebuilt home after home witnessed many miracles. When the work in Burgaw was finished we served in Grifton, NC for a year and continued to see God not only work in the lives of the people we ministered to, but also in our own lives as He sought to make us better servants. Since then, the Carpenter’s Hands Ministry has responded to other disasters in NC, WV, NY (9/11), GA, KY, FL, AR, AL, MS, LA (Katrina), TX, and HI. These trips were for hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, ice storms, and man-made disasters. All of this was done through the NC Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief.
In the summer of 2002 Carpenter’s Hands Ministry joined North Carolina Baptist Men’s partnership with a trip to Morning Star Baptist Church in Healy, Alaska. While there we renovated the existing church and added a large multi-purpose building for church and community use. We took five other trips to Alaska helping build churches and working on individuals’ homes, doing sports clinics and vacation Bible schools for children. In Vermont we remodeled a parsonage and worked on a 200 plus year old stone church building. This past summer we constructed a new church in Bayfield, Colorado.
We have had the privilege of building 3 houses in our community. We have also had served locally through building numerous handicap ramps, re-roofing houses, repairing homes, and building churches.
